American Red Cross blended learning incorporates at-home online learning with class time discussion in water skill development. Participants need access to a computer and internet to complete assignments prior to start of class. Participants must also attend all class times offered. Participants must complete the following efficiency at the pre-course time:1. Swim 300 yards front crawl and/or breaststroke.2. Tread water 2 minutes, legs only.3. In 1 minute 40 seconds swim 20 yards front crawl/breaststroke, surface dive 10 feet, retrieve 10-pound object, surface, swim back and exit water's edge.Upon successful completion, this class includes a 2 year certification for Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for Professionals.PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended to wear professional-type swimsuits to class (board trunks for men with tight waistband and 1 piece or "sports 2 piece" for women). Online coursework will be provided by the Lifeguard Instructor and must be completed prior to class. If a student can not pass the prerequisites, they will be unable to continue with the class for certification and a refund will not be given.Schedule for classes is as follows:Friday, April 20 - Clive City Council Chambers 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.Saturday, April 21 - Valley High School Pool 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.Sunday, April 22 - Valley High School Pool 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
